I must be missing something obvious, but there does not seem to be a way to upload an image directly to the forum.
I understand that it is possible to upload the image to an external site and then reference it from the post, but external sites occasionally die, which explains why we already have a bunch of posts without the original diagrams.
Ken, could you enable image uploads straight to the forum? - It's not like thee is a way to make a CM diagram look dirty
And if someone succeeds at THAT... we all have much to learn.
I have an interesting solution that I would love to share...
Thx!

I don't think this version of phpBB is capable of allowing image uploads ... I didn't find a setting for it. _________________ Ken

So, what's the official process to post images? Is there a public location that we can use to dump the images for long-term storage?
In fact, I was trying to figure out how to take the nice snapshots of the actions that I see in the examples and forum posts.
Thanks,
Gabriel

There's no official process, per se. Later tonight I'll look into opening up a directory for uploads. _________________ Ken

That's nice. Thanks!
So, how do you take the snapshots of the diagrams? I though of using the Grab utility, but that also grabs the background.
However, your images blend with the forum's background and are placed nicely in the post.
Any trick?
Thanks,
Gabriel

OK, the simple public folder isn't happening. I'll have to look into modifying the forum to allow image uploads for registered users, but that will be a project unto itself.
Regarding the screenshots, here is how I do it:
1. Turn off the grid in CM's preferences
2. Set the background color of a disabled page to 10% black
3. Disable the page containing the building blocks that will be captured
4. Capture a screenshot
5. In Photoshop, delete the background black and trim the image, leaving 20 empty pixels to the top and left of the building blocks.
You can drag an image from the forum onto the desktop and open it in Preview to see what the raw image looks like. _________________ Ken
